Dressage, Cones & World Cup, May 15

“Another lovely SUNNY (if a bit windy) day at Stedham with SDHC today!! we are so lucky with the sunshine and the company. Karen & Chris Laing did us proud, organising the whole day, thank you! Thank you to Di Lucas for judging the dressage and to Amber Linfield for being her writer. Chris set a varied cones course that certainly tested control and showed how important picking the right route for your own pony can be, there were several options to a number of cones! The accumulator was great – lots of learning for organisers as well as drivers so you’ll be seeing that competition again….

After lunch the World Cup course drove really well, with the obligatory “boogey fence” – three stripes of wood shavings on a mock bridge that tested the nerve of a number of our horses today! some beautiful polework as they trotted over them

For me, seeing so many new drivers starting their competition careers and seeing new and inexperienced horses learning their jobs is wonderful! And it is always great to see everyone and enjoy such a beautiful setting, thanks to Mr & Mrs D Hill.”
