The 2016 AGM was held on 3rd December in Petersfield.
“A lovely evening for the South Downs Harness Club AGM, great to see friends and sad that others were unable to make it, they were missed. Following the meeting we enjoyed a presentation on AITA (Attelage) by Richard James, passionate and enthusiastic about this very elegant sport for which he is an international judge. And there was lots of cake..!
We have also had changes within the committee. Jane Kempton is our new Chairman, we wish her every success! Joanne Parrett continues with her roles for Safeguarding, Trophy Custodian and Publicity – the articles you see in magazines are all thanks to Jo.
This week Jo will also be handing over the Health& Safety role & documents to Clare Holland. Initially our secretary Clare is well placed having worked in H&S previously and her husband is more than up to date for his day-job! We are happy that Amber Linfield returned to the committee this summer and picks up her previous role as secretary from Clare.
Remaining in post are Helen Baldwin for Rights of Way; Davinia Ellis for Social Drives; Helen Annema Hughes as Treasurer and Kayti Harvey for Event Co-ordination.
This does now leave us with a vacancy for Membership Secretary and a Newsletter reporter. Please get in touch if you feel this is something you could help us with.
Here is Jo presenting some of the awards.
