The Backsteppers’ Workshop took place at Meadow View Farm, Wintershill, Durley on 24th April.
The Backstepper Club was formed through the Indoor competitions by a group of organisers and competitors such as Barbara Nadin (UKCC level 2 Coach) and Mike Watts (scoring). The club created the syllabus for a one day training course to go along side membership. Backsteppers taking part are automatically enrolled into the Backsteppers club on successful completion of the course.
Leading the workshop was Phil Renfrey, Barbara Nadin’s backstepper and part of the founding group.
The workshop was in 2 sections:
- The first being a lecture demo on the backsteppers skills and responsibilities.
- The second section is practical; participants will be on the back of a carriage.
Kayti writes: “A great day with lots of new members and new friends! Big thank you to Jeanette Parker and Jim Parker for their hospitality,to Jane Kempton for helping out, to Stephen Lucas for his on-going support and providing the obstacle and a special thanks to Philip Renfrey for leading such a fun, informative and incredibly useful day.”
