Inside-Out April 11

Many thanks to Bill and Louise Nicholson for once again allowing us to use their facilities at their home. We know that you both worked extremely hard preparing for the event from mowing and tidying to filling in the rabbit holes only for them to dig them out again overnight!!

The weather was again ordered and arrived as requested dry, bright, warm and sunny. Competitors arrived, the cones course and obstacles were set up and duly walked, with a leisurely start of10.30am nobody was rushing around. After the dressage and cones it was lunchtime so everybody was having a sit down and good chat enjoying Lou’s lovely bacon butties and tea or coffee before obstacles were walked again.

The afternoon started at about 1.40ish (nothing too precise) with a short trip around the lane and through Lou’s front gate to the obstacles, all drove very well with no mishaps or eliminations.

Then back to Lou’s café’ for tea and scones with jam and cream, another session of chat before the scores were put out.

It was good to see people bringing out the young or novice horses and ponies for their first outing. It really is a good place as the atmosphere is so relaxed it relays back to a nervous animal and they were all nicely settled.

Many thanks to all who helped on the day with Paul and Kim helping Louise in the lunchtime rush as well as helping out through the day, Yvonne who did sterling work on the dressage arena in the morning, Di for manning the cones, Cathy and Martyn for the dressage judging and manning an obstacle in the afternoon.

Thank you all again sorry if I missed your name off the list.

Best Wishes to Louise and Bill you can now put your feet up and have a well earned sitdown.

P.S. Steve is slipping up as there were 3 double clear rounds in the cones. (Di)
